Cecile Welten (1958, the Netherlands) is a completely self-taught figurative watercolor painter who first started painting in 2018 at the end of her medical career. Being used to observing people, their moods and expressions, she incorporates their narratives in her paintings.
She chose watercolor as the magic of this living, clean and transparent medium totally captivates her. Nowadays she mainly paints on alternative substrates like panels and mineral paper, so the work can be hung without glass.
